Maker School is Opsta's dedicated hands-on STEM learning centre in Malappuram — a place where students stop being passive learners and start becoming builders, designers and problem-solvers. Every session at Maker School is structured around doing. Students work with real tools, take on real challenges and produce real outcomes they can be proud of.
Maker School is Opsta's multidisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and design program in Malappuram that trains students to think, design, build and showcase real projects. From AI basics and robotics programming to 3D design, electronics and coding, it brings together engineering, fabrication, software, creativity and documentation into one structured, project-driven learning experience — purpose-built to bring out the innovator in every student.
Weekend classes, 2 to 3 hours each day — structured for school students at two distinct levels.
Designed to introduce younger students to the world of making through age-appropriate, activity-driven sessions that build curiosity and foundational skills steadily over time.

Weekly hands-on sessions with real tools and structured project work.
Monthly challenges that test students' creativity, problem-solving and technical ability.
Project showcases where students present and demonstrate what they have built.
Industry visits that connect classroom learning to real-world professional environments.
Sessions where students interact directly with working professionals, designers and engineers.
A progressive learning journey covering all core areas of maker education.
Students begin with the basics of electronics and work progressively through circuits, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, robotics and automation. By the end of the program, students have the technical grounding to design and build functioning electronic and robotic systems independently.
Good engineering begins with good design. Students learn to sketch ideas by hand, create 2D technical drawings, develop 3D models using CAD software and apply design thinking principles to turn rough concepts into well-structured, buildable projects. These sessions build both creative confidence and technical precision.
Students gain direct, supervised experience with professional fabrication equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC milling machines and 2D cutting tools. This hands-on exposure to fabrication technology gives students a level of practical familiarity.
From programming fundamentals and basic coding for beginners to webpage basics, project documentation and digital creative tools, this module gives students a well-rounded foundation in software and digital literacy. Students learn to write code that does something real, document their process clearly and use technology as a creative instrument.
Making is not purely technical. Our arts and crafts sessions develop craft-based prototyping, physical model making, visual presentation and storytelling, giving students the ability to communicate their ideas clearly and present their work with confidence.
At Maker School, students do not work with scaled-down, simplified versions of professional tools. They work with the real thing in a safe, supervised environment with full guidance from experienced mentors.
"This level of access to fabrication and making equipment is what makes Maker School one of the most fully equipped STEM learning centres in Malappuram, Kerala."
Experience-driven learning that builds the next generation of building, designing and problem-solving innovators.
Every session at Maker School is built around direct experience. Students work through challenges with their own hands, make decisions, face setbacks and find solutions because that process is where real learning happens.
From their very first session, students work with the same category of tools used in professional design studios, engineering workshops and fabrication facilities. This early, consistent exposure builds technical confidence that stays with them.
Students follow the complete making process from initial sketch and design through fabrication and testing to a finished, presentable prototype. This end-to-end experience makes us a leading robotics class in Kerala.
Every challenge is open-ended. Students are given a problem to solve and the tools to solve it with. This consistently builds the kind of lateral, innovative thinking that serves students in every area of their lives.
When a student completes a project they designed, built and presented themselves, something changes in how they see their own potential. Every student leaves with a genuine maker mindset and the confidence to back it up.
Maker School follows a carefully designed six-month curriculum that builds progressively, ensures no gaps in learning and keeps every student moving forward with clear purpose and direction.
Led by trainers who combine real technical experience with a genuine understanding of how students learn. Our mentors guide, challenge and support students at every stage of their personal growth.
